Soar's leadership team

Soar’s leadership team includes three members of the Soar family – Fred, Jenny and Vicky. They are supported by senior print production and sales specialists who are highly respected in the New Zealand print industry.

Fred Soar
MANAGING DIRECTOR

Fred heads up the company that was founded in 1920 by his grandfather Lt. Colonel Fred Soar. Under his guidance, Soar has become widely recognised as an innovator in New Zealand’s print industry, particularly in the areas of sustainability and lean manufacturing. A great believer in blazing a trail rather than walking the predictable path, Fred holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Auckland) in Management, Accounting and Economics, and is a member of the New Zealand Society of Chartered Accountants.

Jenny Carter
FINANCIAL DIRECTOR

In addition to her role as Soar’s financial director, Jenny leads Soar’s sustainability activities, including the gaining of accreditations and the complex calculation processes involved with carboNZero^(CertTM) printing. Before joining the family business in 1990, she worked as a chartered accountant with Arthur Young (now Ernst & Young) for 10 years, including a four year stretch in Canada specialising in audit and systems projects.

Vicky Soar
DIRECTOR

Vicky is an essential member of the Soar management team because she has a holistic view of the business and understands the many factors that drive our success. On a daily basis she helps with sales and administration tasks. She also has sole responsibility for team engagement, which includes organising fundraising events, planning social club occasions and generally keeping Soar’s company culture in good health.

Brian Landry
GENERAL MANAGER

Brian has his finger on the pulse of production at Soar. Originally a photolithographer, he draws on a wealth of knowledge gained in production management roles in a leading New Zealand design agency, general management of two large printing companies and a stint in the signage industry. Brian is very hands on and enjoys technological adventures that take Soar Printing where no NZ printing company has gone before.

Stephen Andersen

OPERATIONS MANAGER

Stephen leads our production team and is responsible for the safe, efficient running of our advanced print facilities. With more than 30 years’ experience in the print industry, his expertise helps drive process improvements, technological innovation, quality standards and exceptional customer service. Soar’s environmental and sustainability practices sit well with Stephen and he enjoys our culture of continuous learning to build excellence.
